Answering the Call to Service

A chronicle of one man’s journey from secular to clerical life.

A Journey Undertaken

My name is Mac and I’ve been ignoring the call to ministry for many years, but have found that now I just can’t do so anymore.  So, late in life, and with my two dogs (Spike – an 8yo male standard schnauzer and Livvie – a 19yo female miniature schnauzer), I’m off on a journey that should see me go from the secular life to that of a clergy member in service to man at the pleasure of God.  This journey has me currently working on a combined BA/MA in Clinical Pastoral Counseling.  Once finished with the BA/MA my plans are to continue on with a Doctorate in Ministry.

So, we’d love to have you share in the journey and tag along via this blog. Look below to view the most recent comment or leave one of you own.

Go to column two and check out our photos.

Go to column three to check out Recent Posts, go to another page on our blog, look back at past blogs in our Archives, or view some comments from visitors.

Please share this site with friends and family, it would be greatly appreciated.  Also, take a little time to post a comment or ask a question.  In setting this blog up, I hope not only to learn something from everyone who visits, but to maybe give something in return.   Who knows?  Maybe in a couple of years, commentaries and feedback from you will find its way into my doctoral dissertation….  <G>

Hi Wayne!
This is my first visit and I am impressed and touched by what you have done and what you so openly share. It truly is an honor to be your friend, neighbor, supporter, and fellow human of dogs. I look forward to visiting you on a regular basis, both here and in person! There will be so much to talk about and share. You are so very special and I am so happy that you are following your heart and answering the call. The world needs more like you.
Thank you for mentioning Simon and me ~ and please feel free to use my first name!
Much love and many blessings,
Karen
